Happy New Year!
January 1, 2008
The
Christmas “season” began for us on the first of December, with a visit to the
Pullman town center for the lighting of the Christmas tree, and the
arrival of Santa. (Apparently his sleigh was in for repairs, because he arrived
on a big, yellow fire truck.) On the following weekend, we put up our tree and
decorated our home, while sipping on mulled wine and listening to Paul’s latest
Christmas CD.
We
spent Christmas in Cle Elum with Frances’ folks
and caught up with family over the time we were there. Santa was very good to us
this year: he brought us both brand-new Rollerblades (which we’ll enjoy when the
snow in Pullman
melts away).
After Christmas, we drove to Portland to visit with
Caden. Oh, and his mom, too. We spent a couple of days there oohing and
ahhing over the two-week-old baby. We then drove back to
Pullman, stopping to visit
America’s Stonehenge along the way.
New
Year’s Eve saw us enjoying a quiet night in with Chinese take-away and a Doctor
Who marathon, all topped off with Champagne at midnight. By 12:30, we were
zonked out – yes, we really know how to party!
We started 2008 with a nice full breakfast, and Bucks Fizz / Mimosas before
putting on our Christmas presents for a stroll around the block. Of course, the
snow on the ground meant that we gave up after two seconds and returned indoors.
Have a happy and healthy 2008!
